Young Dubs heading to the East Coast for Four in a Row

We survived Kansas City Irish Festival!!! And that’s saying something. What a great extravaganza it is. We got to hang with a bunch of our fellow musicians and see some epic shows. The highlight was definitely the amount of jams there were throughout the three days. On night one we shared the stage with the Elders for a song and then night two we hopped up with We Banjo 3 (amazing band, first time seeing them for us!). It was one for the books. Now we are heading for Brooklyn and there will be very little sleep until we get there 😉

On Wednesday, Sept 5th we play at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY. It’s a great venue and we have The Narrowbacks sharing the bill with us. It’s nice to be back in New York even though it’s a quick visit. Click Here for more info.

On Thursday, Sept 6th we head to Daryl’s House in Pawling, NY. Many of you will have seen the epic tv series Live From Daryl’s House where Daryl Hall would welcome various artists to come and play in his house with his band! Brilliant show. Now they have a venue of the same name. Although the man doesn’t actually live there it will be the next best thing. Really looking forward to this show. Find out all about it HERE

On Friday Sept 7th it’s another first for us as we hit the stage in New Hartford. CT at the Parrott Delaney Tavern. Check out their website for the history of this spot. It used to be an Ovation guitar factory. Now that’s good Karma. Click here for all the info

Saturday, Sept 8th we are in Milford, PA at the Milford Theater. This will be another first visit for us but we hear great things about it. The show is being promoted by the Kindred Spirits Arts Program. “Run by a core group of dedicated volunteers, it has for over a dozen of years been a part of the community and the cultural life of the region and remains committed to showcasing the best of up and coming performers as well as providing stimulus to new generations.” We like that!

This will round out the shows for our first East Coast week (until we get back in two weeks. More on that next time.)

Donal Burton

On a very sad note, Bren and I lost a dear friend last week. Donal was an original member of our first band in Ireland and a tremendous human being. Although we only got to see him when we go home it was always like we had never left. I still can’t believe he won’t be there when we go home again. We send our love to his family and will never forget “Burtie” and those incredible “coming of age” times we shared back in Dublin. You will be greatly missed brother. Pictured on right. Front row, Keith, Bren and Donal. Back row, Bill and Gary.

A special show in Santa Monica.

We have added a few new shows for the year including a very special event for November. Many of you know this band started in Santa Monica, CA. It has been a very long time since we played in that town but when an old friend contacted us about playing his new venue we decided it was time. Harvelles has been in Santa Monica since 1931 but was never on our radar until now. One of our fellow musician pals has purchased the place and asked if we would help him celebrate.

The show will be on Sat Nov 10th. There are only 150 tickets so grab yours now and lets relive the early days of The Young Dubliners in Santa Monica. For one night only. CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

The Ireland Trip March 2020. Two thirds sold already!

We have just finalized the details for the Ireland trip where we will bring 120 fans on the holiday of a lifetime. The truth is we did not plan to do another one until the huge success of our March 2018 tour. It sold out so quickly and we received so many requests to do one more that we decided it was the only thing to do. So we are announcing our 10 day Ireland extravaganza to include Belfast, Galway, Dublin and TWO nights at a castle in Donegal (plus many other stops along the way). This itinerary has been hand picked based on past experience and will be loads of fun from the first to the last day. Contact Hammond Tours to book your spot.
