Big Tour kicks off. Young Dubs hit the road for a month long run.

On Thursday we kick off the month long tour in Tomball, Texas. I know you are wondering why I say “month long” when we are ALWAYS on tour. What I mean is it will be a month straight without going home. There are some big festival appearances mixed in with loads of club dates. Most of them will be on the East Coast but it includes Kansas City Irish Festival this weekend and Scotfest in Broken Arrow, OK in mid September. It’s going to mean a lot of driving and trying to keep ourselves amused so we don’t go completely nuts. Send us your movie picks so we can stay entertained.

As I mentioned we start on Thursday, August 30th. The venue is The Main Street Crossing in Tomball, TX (just outside Houston). I love when a venue says on it’s website that it’s “The Best Music Venue Around”. Classic. We always love playing in Texas and only wish we had a few more days there. Check out showtime and more info HERE

Right after that show we will be deadheading to Kansas City where we return to the Kansas City Irish Festival. BREAKING NEWS, we have just been added to Sunday as well at 5.30pm. So now we are playing all three days. It’s been a while since we played it so anticipation is high. Our dear friends the Elders are the reigning kings of their hometown fest and as this is their last time playing it, we expect it to be off the hook. For times and more info CLICK HERE

Then we head East, all the way to Brooklyn, New York and the Knitting Factory on Wed Sept 5th. Click Here for more info. Who doesn’t love NY so this is highlight. Great venue.
After that we have three more in a row to finish out the week. More about them in the next email.

This week we lost a true American hero when John McCain passed away. I was lucky to have spent an hour at an airport with Senator McCain many years ago. He was one of the nicest men I have ever met. We talked about the time he spent teaching at Trinity College in Dublin and then delved into some politics (as you do when you’ve got a Senators ear). I was so impressed when he headed to the economy section of the plane and sat amongst his constituents. What a great example he set. Lets hope that his passing acts as a wake up call to other politicians to stop playing mindless, vindictive vengeful games with this country and get on with the job you were elected to do by working together. If you truly love America then you should love your fellow Americans too despite your differing politics. Lets make America friends again. How about that!

We have added a few new shows for the year including a very special event for November. Many of you know this band started in Santa Monica, CA. It has been a very long time since we played in that town but when an old friend contacted us about playing his new venue we decided it was time. Harvelles has been in Santa Monica since 1931 but was never on our radar until now. One of our fellow musician pals has purchased the place and asked if we would help him celebrate.

The show will be on Sat Nov 10th. There are only 150 tickets so grab yours now and lets relive the early days of The Young Dubliners in Santa Monica. For one night only. CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS

The Ireland Trip March 2020. Already selling fast. Over half the spots gone.

We have just finalized the details for the Ireland trip where we will bring 120 fans on the holiday of a lifetime. The truth is we did not plan to do another one until the huge success of our March 2018 tour. It sold out so quickly and we received so many requests to do one more that we decided it was the only thing to do. So we are announcing our 10 day Ireland extravaganza to include Belfast, Galway, Dublin and TWO nights at a castle in Donegal (plus many other stops along the way). This itinerary has been hand picked based on past experience and will be loads of fun from the first to the last day. Contact Hammond Tours to book your spot.
